As a result, FFICE collaborated with several top entities, including Scott’s Miracle-Gro Foundation, the University of Alabama and the Department of Energy.

Marquita also constructed a series of best practices in site selection and development to support rapid scalibility. Within 5 months FFICE had identified and screened greater than 100 land management solar projects in Alabama. Several ending in government contracting.

Prior to founding Shine E Solar, Marquita teamed up with Birmingham land managers to create the schematic for the smart, solar waterer. She was responsible for design and construction of the prototype and is in the process of creating full capacity manufacturing lines in Birmingham.

Previous to Shine E Solar Marquita was team lead for one of 200 teams selected nationwide to compete in a solar competition, the Solar In Your Community Challenge, headed by SUNY and Sunshot.
